The doors to the hospital opened slowly with a loud creak. Dust floated in the air as did a terrible smell. Adrian carefully tiptoed into the dark, empty waiting room, looking around in awe. Never in her life had she seen a hospital like this, and yet this shouldn't have been surprising. Since the shadow attack at the beginning of the Apocalypse, nothing had been touched in here, and who knows how many there were that were dead in here. Adrian observed everything in that room before moving on into the even darker and creepier hallway. Suddenly, she heard something shift behind her. She stifled a scream and nearly jumped out of her skin before she turned around immediately to see what it was.

It was only Skye. "Woah woah!" She said, trying to get her to calm down. "It's me! Skye!" She shifted to where the light was better, revealing her face and the sword in which she carried on her back.

Adrian sighed out of relief, placing her hand on her chest. "oh, good. you scared me!"

"I'm sorry." She said, half laughing. "Are you okay?"

She nodded quietly. "Yeah. I'm fine. This place is just so weird... it's creepy!" She replied, glancing around the hallway.

Skye looked around. "Yeah..."

"You want to explore with me?" She asked, turning back to the hallway. "There might be something useful in here."

"I thought you'd never ask!" Skye said excitingly.

With a small smile on her face, Adrian carried on down the hallway quietly. It was dark, but there was just enough light to see. She then peeked her head into the first room she came to, her stomach retching at the sight. There was blood and bodies. She had expected this kind of thing, but not this bad. Some of the bodies were completely unidentifiable, but others could be seen as nurses and patients. "Gross...." She breathed.

Skye peered in also. "Cool..." She breathed.

She turned to Skye and gave her a crazy look. "Cool? How is that cool?" She asked rhetorically. "Nevermind. I don't think we're going to find anything here."

Skye frowned. "I wanna go in there..."

Adrian blinked at her for a moment then shrugged. "Okay. But I'm not following you..."

A weapon rushed towards Adrian, barely missing her and landing on the wall behind her. The weapon's silvery material glistened in the poor light. It was a strange shape - a circle with a strange assortment of spikes protruding from the sides. A voice from one of the dark parts of the room rang out loudly and strongly, demanding an answer to its question, "Who are you?! Why are you here?!"

Adrian stared at the weapon that nearly hit her before turning back to the voice it came from. Immediately, she unsheathed her sword and pointed it in that direction. "I should be asking who you are and why the.. heck you threw that at me!"

The weapon on the wall started to jerk and return to the shadows where it originated. From the darkness, a figure started to emerge. "Just answer the damn question." The eyes were started to take form, the lethal glare appearing, revealing her intentions.

She glared at the figure, but didn't move from her stance. "I'm Adrian Galloway. Now who's side are you on? Who are you anyway?"

She finally came out completely in the light. A purple bandana wrapped around the girl's head, black hair frizzing out. Blood trickled from her mouth, eyes, and nose. She rose her weapon, glarin gat Adrian. "I am Vanessa Carter. I am on no one's side." She then lowered her weapon, a confused look on her face. "Side? There are sides?"

Skye looked strangly at the newcomer.

She suddenly relaxed, the tip of her sword landing loudly on the floor, and tilted her head to the side out of confusion. "Well it's the human side or the Shadow King's side..." She replied.
