ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Skylar walked out of her home. She looked over at the house next to her's. She never saw Lance come out that one day he went in with the girl. And then a strange girl walked in his house a while back along with another boy. But they came out. So where was Lance and the girl. Dead. she thought. That idiot got himself killed.

Reuben walked silently down Solli Street with the baby shadow crawling along a couple of steps behind him. His focus was on his feet and he didn't notice the girl outside of her house.

Skylar noticed the boy though. She also noticed the shadow following him. IDIOT! Watch you back! She raced and attempted to kill the shadow.

Reuben kicked his foot over protectively and parried the girl. He scooped the shadow up in one arm and gripped his sword with the other. "What the hell do you think you are doing?"

Loki was walking down Solli Street, sighing. He remembered Omega, who was on this block, but knew he never left his post. He passed the creepy house, and thought he saw Omega's shadow. Suddenly, he spotted a girl his age. She was with Reuben.

Reuben's eyes softened for a second before bringing back hostility. He was close to punching her in the face. "She was like this shadows mother. It would never do anything." He remembered the last time he saw her, smiling sweetly before running into certain death.
