The remake of ATA, when the human race goes endangered.

ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct. This is the Prolouge of ATA. Help make the story.

The tunnels were empty, and deadly quiet. There was absolutely no sign of life anywhere. Two silent figures were found in the silence, but neither knew the other was there. One was male, and he sat on half a bench, the other half having been torn off by some monster or other. The other figure was female, and she stepped lightly through the grease and dust covering the rails.

Another figure formed. She could barely be seen but she was still somewhat visible. Her voice was soft. "Hello?" she broke the silence.

Melody heard the voice echo down the tunnel. Spy-like, she began creeping down the dark tunnel towards the voice.

The figure had materialized right in front of Darren. He scrambled to his feet, and it took him a moment before he realized where it was coming from.
"Who are you?" he asked.

"Oh, it's you," he muttered, dusting his front off. "We met the other day, but not on the very best note. . " Darren's voice trailed off.


Melody came up to the platform, but she was still hidden in the darkness.

"Oh, don't worry about it," Darren told her. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw something move. The teen whipped out his sword, pointing it to where he had seen the movement. "Show yourself!"

Melody stepped out, looking rather pissed off.
"Can't anybody enjoy quiet time around here?" she asked.

Avoiding Annabelle's gaze, Melody pulled herself onto the platform, shooting an angry look at Darren when he tried to help her.
"You know," she said, pulling her hood down, "just. . wandering."
"Wait, she's with you guys?" Darren asked incredulously, doing nothing to hide the look he gave Melody.

Suddenly nightcrawlers and normal shadows dropped from the ceiling, landing on all three of them. The shadow on Annabelle started scratching at her back. She screamed in pain as past wounds were revealed.

Darren let out a less-than-manly scream. The nightcrawler pinned his arms down; he couldn't reach his sword. It began scratching at his chest and stomach. More blood than should have come began gushing.

The wind knocked out of her, Melody was momentarily stunned, but soon caught her breath. Luckily, her beast was not the brightest of the bunch. She managed to reach her gun, yanked it out, and bonked the shadow on the head. It screeched, backing off a little ways. She fired at it, and it disappeared.

Annabelle winced as cloth from her dress was ripped away as well as skin. She screamed bloody murder as scar tissue began to get tore up.

Trying to decide which of the two needed more help, Melody turned to Annabelle first. She shot at the nightcrawler, each shot not quite hitting the target, but causing injury enough to the monster that it was scared off.


Meanwhile, Darren struggled against the nightcrawler, crying out each time it's deadly claws sliced him. Suddenly, a loud snap! was heard, and Darren wasn't fighting as hard anymore.

Annabelle winced. Getting up. Her dress sleeves started to slump down her arms. She tried her best to put them back on her shoulders. She grabbed her sword and sliced the creature's head off, which disappeared in mid air. Its body disappeared as well. Her sword clattered to the ground. She knelt beside Darren's body.

Keeping her weapon out just in case more showed up, Melody stood guard while Darren stayed on the ground. His skin was paling, and his shirt was stained red, with slash marks all down it.

Annabelle pulled out the small medical bag she kept in her dress. Her body was going through shock so it wasn't really bleeding. She sighed, putting on gloves. She started to feel his back. "There is a possibility his spinal cord was ruptured or worse, snapped." she said aloud, more to herself than anything.
