Ari sighed. So much for going out. He took off his cloak and hopped on the couch, closing his eyes. The Sig was by the door.

Melody burst in, and grabbed her weapon. However, she didn't stop there. Storming in, she found the guy laying on the couch. Looking down at him, she tilted her head to the side a little. He was kind of cute. .
Melody shook her head, clearing her thoughts. She cocked the gun, and pointed it down at him.
"How are managing to live here without being part of the gang?"

Ari frowned, eyes still closed. He realised his mistake.
"I don't need drama and multiple people waying me down. I do better on my own."
He then grinned. "You can't shoot me, anyhow. You need all the bullets you have on your real enemies.

"I live." was his reply. He sat up, elbow to the couch, hand on his back. "I'm Ari. Ari Cahil. You?" he asked, stormy blue eyes glinted with happiness. It wasn't a lot of times he met someone who actually respected his opinions.

Melody's eyes were wide. For a moment, she seemed to doubt it was a good idea.
"Well, I don't want to intrude. . " she started, but glancing out the window again, she knew she had almost no choice. "Okay."

"I could handle it," she told him. "I sleep on the floor every night, it's not that big of a deal."

"Okay, sorry," she apologized. Slowly, she sat down on the couch, pleased to find that it was soft. "Do you get visitors often?" she asked Ari.

"Oh." Melody fell silent. After a moment, she stretched out on the couch, also staring at the ceiling and resting her hands on her stomach. The sound of the rain could be heard loud in the house as it pounded on the roof. "Have you always lived here?"
