The Little Train That Could

Reuben sat on the edge of the long forgotten track. It was overgrown, falling apart, and covered in blood. He gazed around. The tunnel always seemed to fade into darkness. At the end always ended with dark? There were no happy endings. The world had been forgotten like the tracks that were left to fall apart; humans were left to die. Was there a light? Born to die or born to live? But living always ended with the bleak hopeless feeling of life being stripped away. Never again will that person feel happiness as they are cast forever into a tortorous sleep they will never awaken from. The ultimate nightmare. Who decided wrong and right? Was there a wrong? Was there a right? Maybe the Shadow King was the good, the revolution of shadows who had been opressed by the moon which had drifted far away like a broken heart. Reuben sighed, dropping his sword and resting his head against the cold, cracked concrete. He closed his eyes to supress his thoughts.

Ari watched him in the darkness, cleaver clutched. He didn't want to kill him...yet. He didn't want to lose to Kai's orders.

Reuben brought his head forward. He let it hang there, staring at his hand. Why? Why did everyone have to suffer in such a way...?

Ari blinked. "What are you doing?" he called, narrowing his eyes.

He looked up with bloodshot eyes. "Ari?"

Ari stepped out of the darkness. "What are you doing down here?" he asked dryly.

"Just... thinking..." he replied. "And you?"

"Following you." Ari said blankly. "You sure picked a horrible place to think.."

"I always think in dark depressing places." he replied with a small hollow smile.

OOC:I have a great idea for tomorrow's TMDU...

Ari frowned, hand shaking on his cleaver. He despised this guy.

OOC:You should bring Kai in. .u.

He sighed and looked down.
"Do you intend on killing me with that?"

OOC: I'll bring him in soon...

"Not at all. Do you intend on keeping up the boring tone shit for much longer?" he asked calmly. "Don't answer that. Your unintelligent smartass response isn't needed."

He continued to stare at the ground, silent.

"That's all you'll do? Stare at the ground?" Ari grinned, and then broke out into a maniacal laughter. "You are pathetic. How you are still alive amazes me."

"Because it's not my time to die." he retorted quietly.

"That's your will to live? A self-proclaimed prophecy of yourself?" Ari narrowed his eyes, frowning.

"I have people to live for." he replied.

Ari grinned. "Keep telling yourself that." he muttered.

"I have to..." he mumbled, not paying any mind to Ari's statement.

OOC:Shit got awkward. Can you bring him in now? .n.

Ari snorted. "I'm leaving. Have fun with your pity party." he sighed, turning.

A small form was tapping his foot lightly at one of the ends of the tunnel. You could only see a faint outline of bandages around his torso and his shoe.

Ari was walking his way, and stopped. "Not you.." Ari hissed. "Look. Annabelle isn't here to save you. So scram."

"Here's your chance." Kai stated darkly.

"And I will pass on it." Ari sighed, walking past him.

He smiled as he walked past. "You're going to let that depressed, murdering, disgrace live? You know you want to kill him."
