What a beautiful sight

A young man about in his teenager years, walked down Shell Drive almost as if it was a casual day. But what was strapped to his side,showed just how dangers a simple walk could be. Feral, Feral Heiss was his name. He was tall,muscular and beautiful swamp green eyes that seemed to pull you into a trance. Hearing an unknown presence charging towards him, Feral stopped and glanced behind his shoulder to see three shadow dogs charging towards him.

Reuben watched from the side of the drive. His eyes narrowed. A survivor! He hoped that this kid would join the Wal-Mart Gang. He drew his sword, his shadow Baby sitting on his shoulder.

Feral watched and waited for the hounds to catch up with him. Both of his hand were rested calmly on a dagger before he quickly drew them out once the hounds were only a four feet away. Charging forward, Feral planted his right dagger against a hounds throat, barely dodging the raze sharp teeth that wished to spill his blood. With a quick swing of his left dagger, Feral sliced at another hounds eyes, blinding it in the proses. Feral watched as the first hound fell to the ground dead, the second snarled in anger and attempted to bite at his side, but was quickly kicked away. However, the third had managed to grab his right arm. Feral winched slightly at the pain,but put his dagger through its skull, returning the favor for his injured arm.

Suddenly, clapping erupted. Loki was walking down the street, 10 or so yards from Feral. He wore a grin on his face, plus he usual white jacket. "Bravo." he commented. "You're a good fighter."

Feral's eyes widened at the sudden sound of a pair of hands clapping. Instinctively Feral reached towards his throwing daggers,but stopped as he realized the sound came from another human. Hearing the sound of claws hitting the concrete street, Feral turned towards the blinded hound that he had kicked before. Although it could not see, the hound could still smell Feral's presence. The blinded hound jumped towards him, mouth wide and ready to bite, but would not reach its mark as Feral sliced its throat like he had done to the first hound. Seeing that there was nothing left to attack him, Feral turned towards the boy. His swamp green orbs glared at the boy before he reached down to grab his dagger that was left in one of the hounds skulls.

IC: Reuben leaped down beside Loki. "Indeed." The shadow on his shoulder nodded slightly. Reuben smiled slightly. "What's your name?" He asked, not realizing that he was mute.

Feral glanced back towards the boy as he heard another voice coming towards the same direction. Before he had even looked he could tell that the voice belonged to a boy. Feral was now starting to question himself if he should of came to this town. It was quit clear that there was other human survivors in the area,but Feral wonder about just how many there were. After flicking his dagger clean, Feral strapped them back to his waist before continuing on his way like nothing had happened. He didn't even bother to glance at the two strange boys, instead he acted as if they weren't there.

Reuben narrowed his eyes. "He won't survive long on his own. There are more shadows here then anywhere else I've been." Reuben hissed under his breath.

Skylar had been following Reuben. When she saw the boy she watched him. Why's he walking away? she wondered when he failed to listen to Reuben and Loki. She started to walk after him. Surely the boys have talked to him... She continued thinking. She was at least a few yards away. "H-hey! P-please wait." Skylar called softly, nerves crept along her spine. There's something about him... it's strange... he's so... silent. It's almost unnatural. She nearly had to break into a jog to catch up to the strange boy.

Jean Acelin had disappeared. No one knew where he went, or what he was doing. Months ago, he had gone to Ceres Lane, only to never walk out. His snow-white hair had grown to his shoulders, and there was a renewed, nervous glint to his eyes. He had brand new, raw scars littering his arms and caressing his legs, none of which were tended to with more than a strip out of his white, silk shirt. His cat, Hecate, too had a scar down her flank, reaching around her leg. The Shadows had not been kind to them, but Jean had fought his way out, and of course, his "Leetle Hecate" had helped as well.

Jean didn't know whether the "Wal-Mart Crew", as he had began to think of them, would remember, or welcome him back. Someone had to feel sympathy for a lost French guy and his cat, right? Hopefully.

He clutched his ribs as he limped onto Shell Drive, using his beat-up sword as a walking stick. Hecate looked around nervously, most likely checking for shadows. Jean's face lit up as he saw a group (well, strands of people standing a good distance away from each other) in the distance. "Hello?" He asked aloud. Mistake. They could definitely have been shadows. Oh, well, too late now. "Eez anyone 'ere?" He asked, more quietly. Hecate glanced up at him, as if he had just stabbed her in the throat. She scampered off behind him, but not too far. She bristled up, and turned to him, as if to say, Why are you not following? Jean shook his head, only piling onto the fear his cat was feeling.

"Come, Heck-a-tee," He said, as he always accentuated her name. "We shall see eef zeese are friends or foes." He gripped his sword, and wobbled over bravely.

(changed Violet's name to Hecate lol. For the non-Greek mythos fans, it's pronounced Heck-ah-tee, the goddess of magic and witches)

Skylar noticed the limping man. She forgot all about the silent guy. "OH MY GOSH!" She yelled. She raced over to the boy. "What happened to you!" She asked, nearly screaming again. Worry reflected in her eyes. She was scared to touch him. She felt she may damage him even more than he already was. She clutched her right arm with her left and the claws dug in. She bit her lip from screaming at the boy even louder. She awaited his reply.

Reuben ran up beside her. He looked at him with concern flaring in his eyes, and he forgot about everything else.. "Whoa, are you alright?" He looked to Baby, his shadow, and he clambered into a sock. Obviously this boy was not fond of shadows. He assesed all of his wounds in his head, desperately clutching for healing information in his head from all of the aftermaths of the many fights, that left Loki as a doctor. He looked at the cat, noticing the scar. They both needed treatment, badly. "We need to get you to the Wal-Mart." He stated, a stren tone to his voice with the seriousness of the matter at hand.

Feral glanced back for a split second, yet again there was another human in the area and shortly after the girl showed up, another seemed to pop up. What was this place, a attraction sight for humans? Deciding that the area was becoming to crowded, Feral turned towards a near by lawn, taking the shortest route away from the unknown strangers. He didn't wish to be around when the small crowd caught somethings attention, something other then another human. He didn't know these people, and surly wasn't going to stick around.

Reuben watched him leave from the corner of his eye. Fool. The Shadow King woulf be sending reinforcements to get a loner, he guessed. He shook off his gaze, this kid needed help more then he did.

Jean looked at them both; unfamiliar. Where were the people he knew? Hecate seemed to be a bit uncomfortable as well, as she glared anxiously at the two. "Non! Do not scream! Zey may 'ear you!" He said, putting a finger to his lips. "Non, non, I am alright, truly. I was just wondering. . ." The boy then mentioned Wal Mart, and Jean's hope was renewed as his eyes lit up. "Oui, Wal Mart would be parfait!" He said happily, but inside, he felt bad that these people were feeling bad for him. It was his fault for getting lost, and not turning back. He was to infatuated by the prospect of a treasure. But the treasure would do no one any good, when money was useless in a world like this. Fantômes, des fantômes de nombreux . . . He thought to himself, after seeing the boy walk away.

"Wait!" He called, not wanting the boy to share the same fate as he, or even worse. "We cannot just let 'eem go off by 'eemself, non?" He said desperately. "Attendez!" He called, subconsciously slipping into French. He turned to the boy and the girl. "Oh, right. I am sorry. Wal Mart?"

Loki motioned for Feral to follow, realizing he was leaving, before jogging over to the wounded guy. "He seems extremely hurt. Yes, we live in a Wal-mart.We can help you there."

Jean nodded. "Yes, of course." He said, reminiscing on the short time he lived there. "But . . . may I ask, where is Luna? And Lance? What ever 'appened to zem?" He asked, hoping they were still at the Wal Mart. Hecate looked around nervously, pacing back and forth, tail in the air. After she assessed the situation, and figured she was safe for the time being, she begin licking her wounds.

Skylar looked down. She felt her heart sink when he asked about them. "They were killed a while back." She could feel herself get emotional and when she got emotion she got nervous about who was watching her. She grabbed her arm. I could've saved them... They were in the house next to me. I could've done something. Guilty thoughts swarmed in her head.

Jean bit his lip, and said, "What a pity, zey were good people," He nodded, not noticing Skylar's uncomfortableness. Hecate looked up when this news was received; You never knew if that cat could understand English or not, how weird she acted. "I suspect zey died 'onorably," He said, sadly. He remembered them well. Lance was the first person he met here, in the mall. Lance then took him to Wal Mart, where he met everyone, Luna, Danielle . . . Hecate looked sad as well, obviously remembering the same things.

Skylar nodded, she wasn't really paying much attention now. Her nails started clawing at her arm. Blood trickled out a bit. She had many of these marks from past events. They ran up and down her arm. Small lined marks. I could've done something...
