ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Lily took Annabelle to the Infirmary, and made sure she sat down, before going back out to the main Wal-Mart and grabbing some lighter fluid, then handing Cloud a lighter. She threw an old chair from an office into the fire pit, then poured the fluid over it. "Light it up." She said.

Cloud lit it and watched as flames danced across the chair.

Skylar rested her back on the wall. She couldn't believe how Annabelle acted. It was pretty cool.
Annabelle stood up and walked around the infirmary until she found a mirror. She noticed a bruise forming on her almost flawless face. She sighed and set it down.

Lily turned to Cloud on the heel of her bare foot. "So, you never told me your name." She said. He was so much taller than her, she had to tilt her head back to look at him.

Reuben walked over to Skylar, exhausted. He sat down beside her. "That was...insane."
"Er, Cloud. I'm Reuben's brother." He said. He realized he was one of the oldest members of the gang. "Where's Annabelle?" He blurted out, and felt rude afterwards but said nothing.

"No. That was partly funny. Well when Annabelle completely called that girl out of the water." Skylar replied with a small laugh.
Annabelle felt alien. She barely knew herself anymore. She walked over to the door that led outside from the infirmary. "Maybe she should go back and apologize. She touched the handle.

Lily looked away. "I took her to the infirmary. You can go see if you like." She said, grumpily sitting on the ground, and poking the fire with a stick, making it roar.

Lily nodded, her violet eyes turing a lighter purple in the fire light. "You should probably go see Annabelle, she's probably wondering we're you are." Lily said, untucking her hair, so that it feel into her eyes, and covered her face in a dark curtain of black silky strands,

Skylar cracked a bigger smile. "Yeah. I was about to punch that Melinoe girl in the face. But I sufficed with her sister."
Annabelle didn't look at him as he came toward her. "I-I just feel awful for what I did back there. That was rude. And it sure wasn't the behavior I was taught."

Cloud's conciousness didn't catch the 'we' on time. Maybe he was becoming less alert, or maybe he was to caught up in the speech.

Annabelle let her face stay in his hand for one more second before turning away softly. "But this is how I've always been... I don't know any different." She'd caught the we but she didn't say anything about it, thinking it was a fluke and he didn't mean it.

Lily stabbed the flame on more time, walking down the isle. Her life was a bore.. and she was the only alone on in the whole fucking Wal-Mart. So she did the sensible thing. She went to the video section, and grabbed a Nintendo DS, then dropped the thing. She hated technology, so instead, she trudged to were she had left her stuff, and pulled out her old ratty sketch book. It was filled with pictures of a boy with curly brown hair in his eyes, and freckles across his nose. Lily dropped it too. "I need to get rid of this." She said, taking it to the fire.
