The remake of ATA, when the human race goes endangered.

ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct. This is the Prolouge of ATA. Help make the story.

Sorren walked in, and layed Reuben on one of the check out belts. He called for Loki. Whistling, Loki stopped when he saw Reuben. "You are keeping me inside, Sorren." he sighed. "Help me get him to the Infirmary.

They layed Reuben on one of the tables, and Loki shined a flashlight at one of his eyes.

Loki straightened up, studying Reuben. "Puncture wound in stomach area, wedged between the small intensine. 6 inches long, 2 wide." He then nodded. "Shallow slash marks, not critical."

Loki shrugged. "It could be worse. Blood loss isn't a possible death. Digestive issues is." He then got a thread and needle. "Can you guys handle the bandages?"
Sorren nodded, determined to help, and went to retrieve some of the ordered supplies. He handed some to Melody.

Sorren did the same, and Loki was sewing. "I doubt he'll wake up. This won't take long, anyhow." he said, threading the needle through his skin.

Blondie tried to avoid watching Loki stitch Reuben up. That kind of thing totally grossed her out; it seemed so unnatural for a needle and thread to go through a person's skin.

Sorren finished his bandages, and soon, Loki finished sewing Reuben up. "Alright. We need to let him rest, and hopefully, he'll wake up in the next year."
Sorren's eyes widened. "WHAT!?"
Loki laughed. "Nah, just kidding. He'll awaken in a couple hours."
Sorren wore a grim expression, as if daring Loki to stay in the room for more than 5 seconds. Loki took the hint, and sprinted out, grinning wildly.

Taken by surprise, Melody didn't react for a moment, but soon found herself more at ease. For a moment, she kissed him back, then pulled slowly away.

Melody chuckled once, her eyes downcast. She felt slightly out of place, almost as if they were somewhere far away, millions of miles from anybody else. And for once, she wouldn't mind that.
Just to keep talking with him, she held up the gem.
