ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Lost In Thoughts

Amethyst sat outside the elementary school. She spoke not a word even thought her voice was back. She sort of forgot to use it now and again. Anyway, she was thinking about how she killed Skylar. It wasn't cold blood considering Skylar had provoked her. But it wasn't right either. She really didn't deserve a second chance at living considering all she was going to do was murder those who were once her friends, even though they didn't know that yet. She sighed. Her ears perked. Her face glared at the ground, she had been afraid of her own sound. She shook her head. This is pointless. Why did I even come here? she pitied. She felt sorry for Reuben because; 1. She caused Skylar to be mad. and 2. She killed Skylar. But Skylar's demise was her own fault. She couldn't trust Reuben. Amethyst wondered what he saw in her.

Reuben walked through the Elementary school. It brought back so many memories. They had got the eggs here, where they hatched and lived until their untimely demise. This was also the place where he first kissed Skylar. He sighed. He wanted someone to blame, someone to hate. But he knew he couldn't do that. It was all Skylar's fault that she died. Amethyst had to protect herself. But he couldn't blame her, could he? He sighed irritably and leaned against the wall. Skylar had the right to not trust him. She just didn't want to lose him, which ended up happening. It felt like his heart was missing inside of his chest. It wasn't anybody's fault. It was his.

Amethyst sighed once more. Her head dropped into her hands. Her eyes closed. Maybe it was her fault Skylar died. Amethyst didn't have to go back to the Walmart. She chose to. She shook her head. She had as much right to be there as Skylar. She was there before her. She groaned in frustration. She just wished Reuben would come and attempt to kill her. She felt guilty for making him lose the girl he loved. But he loved you at one point too, her mind pointed out. LovED, she spat back. Did she have more of a right to be with Reuben than Skylar? She wondered.

Reuben wandered outside the school. He hoped that a shadow would come and kill him. He looked up and saw Amethyst. He turned and walked in the opposite direction. He had hurt her enough.

It was quiet for a while. "How come you haven't tried attacking me for killing Skylar? You did it to Loki when I died." Amethyst finally asked quietly.

Amethyst lifted her hand to put it on his knee but thought against it and dropped it back down to her side. "It wasn't you're fault Reuben. It was her's. She needed to trust you. I mean. You left me to die for her, right?"

Amethyst shook her head. "It doesn't matter. She let rage get the best of her. You can't do that in this world anymore. You have to trust your allies and hope they don't let you down." She finally put her hand on his knee. "Don't let her death phase you too badly. We still have the world to save. I don't want you to die before me."
