ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Ari looked up at the sky. He was surprised to actually find blue in the sky, but it was still mostly cloudy. He sat in the pit, dark blue eyes filled with boredom.

Annabelle rushed passed, not even caring enough to notice Ari. She was being chased by a bunch of regular shadows (just because they are hardly ever in topics).

Ari blinked, looking at the shadows. Target practice... he thought, throwing his cleaver at one. He quickly retrieved it and threw it at another.

Which was the closest one to Annabelle. The cleaver missed the shadow and clipped Annabelle in the leg, causing her to trip and fall on her face.

Annabelle recovered quickly from smacking her face into the ground. She crawled away to hide behind a pile of wood to see how bad her leg was, leaving Ari to the shadows.

Ari finished up the last shadow, splitting it apart down the middle. He then ran to Annabelle, kneeling beside her. "Sorry about that.." he murmured. "My aim still isn't the best."

Annabelle had covered her leg from his sight with her dress though blood dripped down like a stream. "No! I-I don't need your hel-lp." she stuttered. Her body trembled softly.

The blood slipped down her leg once the cloth was full of blood. "I'm so sorry you have to do this Sir."

Ari brought back a medical kit, filled with bandages, alcohol, and other supplies. "I'll get cloths. I'm pretty sure they stop the bleeding." he said, laying down the kit next to her.

Ari came back with the cloths hurriedly. "Oh god.." he sighed, awestruck that he could possibly do this. "I don't really have a medical background." he admitted, pale with worry. "Alcohol or cloths first? Do you pour the alcohol on the cloth?"

Ari held a weak nervous smile, and he started rapping the wound in a real bandage. "Alright. You should be good now." he said, lying on the ground relieved.
