Tears streamed down his face. His feet started to feel heavy. Why? Why did he have to be so inconsiderate? He outstretched a hand, reaching for the hilt of the dagger.

Melinoe glanced down at Danielle, her body unmoving. She remembered the look that passed on her face when she stabbed herself, and she could almost feel the pain herself. Mel stared down at the dagger and her shaking hands. " I.....I'm sorry Cloud.." she whispered. Then, she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself so her hands would stop shaking.

Melinoe shrugged, but her grip on the dagger was weakening. "S-So? Who is there? My family is dead, everyone hates me, theres no one left."

He let out a silent sigh of relief as her dagger went down.
"You're my friend." he said cautiously.
"And friends are supposed to be there for each other." he outstretched a hand.

"It is not living if your life only has one friend." Melinoe said, reciting the words Danielle told her seconds before she died. She looked at Clouds hand, then back at the dagger, "Those people don't deserve to live. They need to die, to help others who need to survive..."

Cloud's eyes teared up. "Melinoe..." he gently rested a hand on the dagger. More tears fell from his face.

Melinoes hands were shaking so bad they shook her whole body. "You knew I liked you and you still chose Annabelle." she bit back a sob, "Dead or alive, I will still be in pain."

Mel shook her head, but all thought of killing herself had left her mind now. There was no way she would be strong enough to do it. "It doesn't matter. I saw the look on her face when she talked about you. You loved her, more then you ever thought about me. Im just your "friend" and that was all. Hopeless, Danielle always told me. I see now that she was right."

Mel scoffed and threw the dagger in the ground. The blade hit the soft earth and the hilt stood up. "What I said isn't a lie though, is it? Theres no hope."

He looked away. He let his hand fall to his side. He cast a longing glance at a stone. It was his small memorial head stone.

Melinoe bit her lip and crouched down to pick up Danielles daggers. If she chose not to kill herself, they had to be melted down so no one else could use them. "Im still not sure......." she whispered softly, looking at them.

He cast a sad questioning glance at Melinoe. He looked at Danielle's daggers sadly.

Melinoe laughed softly, a sad sound you might hear when someone is being told it'll be alright. "Yeah, I don't know about that." She looked up at him, not bothering to hide the tears anymore. "I don't know about anything..."
