ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

A girl sat on a stump, her breath heavy and uneven. From the dried blood on her arms and legs you could tell she was running from shadows. The girl's mysterious green eyes pleaded for food, but her face remained unreadable. However there was something out of place about her.... It wasn't her thick auburn hair... Not her wide green eyes.... not even her blood crusted skin. No, not that, but the fact there was a tiny monkey peeking out of the girl's tiny shirt pocket.
"It's okay Nemo, we are safe now." She gasped between her heavy breaths as she slowly caught her breath. The monkey let out a screetch that made her wince and rub the monkey's head with a tiny pointer finger.

Heather slowly looked around as she heard a screech. 'what was that?' she thought and stepped out from behind the tree where she was standing. She saw a girl around the age of 14 maybe 15. She had auburn hair with green eyes and blood crusted skin. Heather took a small step forward and instantly regretted as the crunch of leaves and the snap of a twig echoed around the clearing.

The girl heard the crunching noise and frowned. Nemo, the tiny marmoest monkey in her pocket, heard it too and let out a loud and low 'SCREEEEECH'! Afraid that who ever was near her had heard it the girl glared at the monkey, who stared innocently up at her. With a heavy, angery sigh the girl stood up and ran. Or course her peaceful moment had been ruined by her follower.

Heather looked confused and began to run after the girl. She eventuall caught up to her. she looked at her and said "wait! I won't hurt you."
