ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Who's That?

A group of Shadow's stood around a shortish body, growling and drooling. A baseball bat swung above their heads, striking home and send plumes of sparkly dead shadows everywhere. A flash of bright red hair could be seen, then disappeared quickly. Someone was stuck in the middle of a near feeding-frenzy. "Help!" The stranger screamed, holding off as many as they could.

A boy suddenly charged down the street, black sword at hand. He had blue black hair, and wore an angry and determined expression. He starting slashing at shadows, while others ran for their lives.

A girl around the same height ran toward the girl, a shadow on her heels. "SWING!" She yelled to the girl gesturing to the girl's bat. "Hurry!" She cried.

Behind him, a blonde girl came out, shooting at every shadow in sight. Several dissolved as she hit them with a bullet, and soon the crowd had thinned enough to see the girl at the center.

The girl did as told and swung with wiry arms, knocking the head off the shadow and sending it flying. "Home run!" She screamed in delight, quickly hitting another shadow.

"Thanks." The girl gasped, her wool hat dirty with the shadow's dust. "I'm Joy." She told her shooting at shadows, and turning them into dust. The red-head looked over at the other girl, her face was streaked in blood and dust, and a small smile on her face.

Only two remained. They were running, but the boy chased them, throwing his sword into one, and knocking it into the other. They both vanished, and the picked up his sword, wiping sweat from his forehead.

The other red head smiled brightly, tucking flames behind her ear. "Marti, at your service. Now, can anyone tell me, what little orginazation do you people have going on, and may I join? Cause man am I starved!" Marti asked, waving cheerily to Melody and Loki (it is Loki, right?).

"Oh, well then, we'll get along dandy! I kill shadows too! With this!" Marti said with a mischievousness smile, whipping out her baseball bat, and looking at it approvingly. She had a small cut on her cheek, and the school uniform -a plaid skirt, white tank top, gray sweater, and striped leggings- were all but falling off.

Blushing Joy looked around. "That wasn't me..." She whispered quietly. "It was my pet monkey...." She said simply gesturing to the itty bitty hands clinging to her tassels on her hat. The hands belonged to Nemo, her marmoset monkey.
