ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Finding Darren

Skye and Shiloh were walking around with flashlights. They were looking for Darren, who had left and had not come back for hours. They had reached the subway, which is where Darren had gone to get away most of the time. This is where he most likely would be, and he was. Calling his name, Skye and Shiloh went down the steps, casting their flashlights through each corner until it casted on the rail. There was silence, until one of them screamed. There, they found the limp body of Darren, on top of a pool of blood, with cold unseeing eyes.

Shiloh was wailing at this point, kneeling on the ground. Skye just stood there, unmoving, starring at Darren. There were tears running down her face, but no emotion.

Skye's fist clenched. She turned around and started walking away, "S-Skye!" Shiloh said, voice cracking with emotion. "D-Don't leave. Don't Skye!" Skye always runs away when something upsets her. So now, with her brother being killed, she felt like she could run forever, and Shiloh could see that in her eyes. Skye ignored her sister and walked up the stairs.

"Yeah..." Shiloh said softly. She took off his crystal pendant. "He said if he dies or leaves to never be seen again, we give our necklace to the remaining oldest. Thats me..." Shiloh looked at the pendant for a while. "So if I die, I give Darren's pendant and my star necklace to Skye. And if she dies before me she gives me her locket. Her locket has a picture of all three of us and our parents..." Shiloh stopped talking because she felt like she was talking too much.
