ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

There was a splash as Ari dived in. He seemed to like the lake nowadays, often going out just to swim. Smiling, he made his way deep underwater, amazed at the clearness, but more amazed by the scenery. It was about 100 feet deep, and there were a bunch of caves. The bottom part of the water was dark, though. Coming up for air, he looked around.

Yuui was headed to go see Stanza after her killing spree. All of a sudden she heard a sound coming from the lake. She noticed it was Ari. Yuui walked to one of the nearby trees to go and watch him silently.

Ari dived down again. He suddenly noticed some fish emerging from the bottom. They had big teeth and were coming for him! Panicking, he started swimming to the shore.

Yuui noticed something big and black in the water and watched in worry as she saw Ari squirm to shore.

The fish were fast. He barely made it to shore before one snapped at him and missed. "Damn those fucking shadows." he breathed, laying on his back and panting.

Yuui didn't know if he was okay or not so she ran up and crouched beside Ari. "Are you... okay?" Yuui asked in a low, concerned voice.

After 2 minutes into the walk back to Wal-Mart, Yuui got uncomfortable of the silence. "S-So... what do you t-think that huge thing in the lake was back there?" Yuui asked shyly while looking away.

Yuui stopped outside of the Wal-Mart. This was where she was supposed to meet Stanza and get her cat back from her since Stanza was babysitting Lunar.
