ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Lance walked up the familiar street, gun in his hand. His eyes were narrowed, as the rebel leader walked up the black asphalt.

Lance smiled back, lifting up his gun. They were at his old house. He made a signal with his hand above his head, meaning 'move in'. He kicked in the door.

Lance looked around. He couldn't help but maintain a wistful look, as he picked up a broken picture of him and his brother. He was about 6 in the photo.

He searched the rooms, not finding anything, until his own room. He walked in quietly, but quickly stepped back. A creature loomed over a women's dead NAKED body. It was Lance's mother. She died here when the apocalypse started. The figure was humanoid, but had wings and only a few hair strands. It held a long curved sword.

The figure turned around, and breathed a single word. "Ommeeeeegggggaaaaaa" Suddenly, Lance scowled and started shooting. The figure shielded itself with it's wings. Two Nightcrawlers appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Luna.

Luna struggled against them and managed to tear herself free, leaving scratch marks. She sliced through their bodies easily.

It seemed to grin, before running with lightning speed and stabbing Lance through the chest. Lance's eyes widened as he fell to the floor.

Luna dropped to her knees. "Lance... Stay with me. P-please don't leave me." She was pressing down on his wound to stop the bleeding. Or at least slow it down.

The creature seemed to frown and walked away, down the stairs. Lance looked back at her. "L-luna...." he whispered. "M-my...fault....I-i'm...sorry..."
