ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Sorren walked up to the door, and peered in. A small office didn't do the place justice, for when you opened the next door, rows of cells appear. He gulped, for he was expecting a Keeper.

Coming up behind him, Melody stepped lightly so as not to warn any shadows that might be lurking anywhere. She was deadly silent, and touched Sorren on the shoulder to get his attention.

Reuben walked up behind them. His head was bowed, and Baby wasn't with them. "Do you think there really is a keeper?" He asked, his voice was hoarse.

Sorren laughed silently. "Best smell in town, actually." he commented, but was stopped by a roar. A dragging sound could be heard around the corner.

"Most likely, our opponent." Sorren responded. Seconds later though, a tentacle shot from the shadows, piercing through the middle of his chest. He then was thrown to the wall.

An angered hiss sounded, followed by more dragging. Into the flickering light of the prison, came a humongous shadow, with 5 tentacles and no legs. It's eyes glowed. "Food no fight back." it roared. "I eat food."

The monster roared, grabbing Reuben by the leg. He threw him to the ground, and roared as bullets peppered it's forehead. "Me no like small lead pellets!" it shrieked.

The Keeper, known as 'Crawler', balanced on one hand while swiping the other at Melody, claws sharpened.

Deftly, Melody tried dodging the claws, but they nicked her shoulder. Gasping, she looked at the tattered shirt, where blood was starting to ooze through.
