Crying out in pain, Melody realized it was her right shoulder that had gotten scratched. Her arm was quickly becoming useless, and so, inevitably, she moved her weapon to her left hand. She fired enough shots into the base of one tentacle that it fell off the beast.

3 more tentacles. The Crawler thought of an idea, thredding a tentacle through the stab wound in Sorren's chest again. He held him in front of Melody, as a human shield. "Don't attack; he'll die." raged the Crawler.

Melody was utterly horrified. Sorren's limp body hung in front of her. Feeling defeated, she lowered her gun. For some reason, she couldn't force herself to look away.

Casper got up and flung his dagger with lots of force. It flew through the air and landed somewhere on the head of the monster.

Crawler grinned, if he could. "Goood...." he breathed, and stabbed Melody through the stomach with another tentacle. The dagger stuck, but didn't go deep enough. The Keeper shrieked.

"Dangit!" Casper shouted. "Melody!" He ran over to her. "I'm gonna need some sort of weapon." He muttered.

"You two make good puppets after dead." bellowed Crawler with a laugh. He looked at Casper. "You next."

The look on her face froze as the dagger went in. Melody looked positively shocked, and a squeak escaped her lips.
"Ouch," she muttered, looking at the knife in her stomach.

"Crud." Casper said, backing off. There was no shelter, and no weapon that he could use. So Casper stood with his eyes closed. He breathed deeply, and opened them. "Come get me."

Crawler grinned. "Gladly!" he roared, crawling over to him. He swiped tentacles at Casper. His others were slowly growing back.

The tentacles hit Casper in the face. He fell to the ground, and pretended to be knocked out.

Casper thought he didn't know what he could do. He was exposed, with no weapon.

Sorren and Melody were thrown into the wall, as Crawler chuckled, rushing tentacles at Casper.

Casper quickly got up, sprinted so to dodge the incoming tentacles, grabbed Sorrens spear, and flung it towards the shadows head.

It lunged completely through. "No!" Crawler screamed, dissolving. "NO!"
The Keeper disappeared, and in it's place was a silver gem.

Casper ran up to the gem. "I-I think I'm supposed to take it." He said leaning down. He squatted completely, and looked at it. It didn't look very bright, but the room somehow seemed to fill with it's glow. He felt the spot on his face the Crawler had hit, but when he covered his eye, his perspective didn't change.

It was Sorren, struggling to breath.

"A-another gem?" she asked, a faint smile showing on her gaunt face.

Sorren shook his head, and was pale. Suddenly, his eyes drooped a tad, and one last droop of blood hit the floor, and his breathing stopped along with his heart rhythym. Sorren was dead.
