A Quiet Night

Alexander walked thoughtfully down the street-side, not at all bothered by the flickering light or two.

Bella frantically ran down the street, as darkness hushed silently over the once neighborhood. She had gone sight seeing, and hadn't realized it gotten so late. Her converse skidded over the sidewalk and she fell, smacking pavement harshly.

Alex paused, watching as a young girl ran twords him, falling hard against the cruel ground. Silently he stepped forward, slightly amused, he offered her a hand. "What were you running from?" he mused.

Bella looked up through one terrified hazel eye, but took Alexander's hand nonetheless. "The dark." She replied simply looking up at him from underneath honey blond bangs. A scrap on her upper cheek made her look vulnerable.

Alex looked genuinely shocked when he saw who it was, looking over her with a bright green gaze, he brushed the bands out of her eyes. "Is the dark so fearsome that you run for your life?" She looked so frail, so weak, it was almost sad. It sparked an or two, emotion he rarely felt, pity and compassion, both were ones he frequently feigned.

Bella blushed sas his fingers brushed her face. No one ever really paid attention to the small girl. She stiffened. "I have a fear of many things but the dark is not one. Really, I could reveil in the dark, if it did not bring it's creatures with it." She shivered, shaking her head, and wrapping arms around herself.

Alex said nothing as he traced his fingers as he brushed the dirt lightly off her cheek, seeing a small streak, a healing wound that he himself had done. He hadn't been sure it was the same girl, but it was. Did she also recognized him also?
Being the gentleman that he was, seeing her shiver, he took off his coat and offered it to her. It wasn't like he would be needing it. "Here." He said simply. "Well where did you plan on going, there are 'creatures' in this entire town."

Bella's knees melted at he dusted the grim off her cheeks. She gladly took the over sized coat and shrugged it on her small shoulders. "I belong to a group of humans who have managed to find a place that shadows would never enter." She smiled wickedly, looking ferocious, and in the same moment it was gone. "You could join us if you want!" Her wide hazel doe eyes sparkled excitedly. Oddly, she didn't feel scared around this stranger, although Loki had warned her of the half bloods.

Alex let out a small smile, not having picked up the strangeness on her face. "My dear, I would be delighted." He said, "Does this mean I would allowed to be your escort?" A small smile was on the boys face. Then again, she would be the one doing the escorting it. Oh well, either way, this was a very interesting find.

Bella giggled. "Why of course kind sir." She smiled, and started walking in the way of the Wal Mart. She snuggled further into Alex's jacket, and had to admit, for a boy in the wilderness, he smelled good.

"Let us go then." He looked down at her, a small and amused look on his face. Alex started walking down the street, out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed unnatural Shadows dancing all around.

Bella smiled, and silently they progressed towards the Wal Mart that the rebels had learned to call home. The girl turned to Alex, but stopped and followed his green gaze. Shadows. And she had left her gun at the Wal Mart. "Oh no." She whispered, turning on her heel, and getting ready to run.

Alex traced the movements of the creatures and slipped a few knifes out, "Go. Go now!" He commanded, throwing one of the knifes forward at a swiftly approaching enemy before it could touch them.

Bella hesitated. "What about you?" A shadow spider crawled towards them and she kicked it into the face if another, causing them both to poof.

"I'll..." For once he was at a loss for words. "Just run and go wherever you need to, I'll cover you and catch up." He shouted behind his back, looking at her in the eyes.

Bella nodded, and kicked another Shadow, sending it flying into a tree. She ran towards the base, faster than any shadow could. Only when Alex's was out of site did she realize that she hadn't even caught his name.

The young bodied man did nothing but watch as she ran off, not bothered much by the gathering numbers of Shadows surrounding home. There were wastes to him, nothing more then a mere distraction to be looked down upon and waved away like smoke. However, he did not know about how this girl could hold, and her appearances did not seem deceiving in the least.
As he had promised, he took careful aim to take out any one that dare near approach her in her flee for safety, not bothering to deal with the ones near him till he was out of his reach. When it was quite over, he sighed and put his hands in his pockets, a little disappointed. A shadowless place, nothing he had ever heard of before. Was it possible?
A louder question started to ring in his mind. Who was that girl?
She still had his jacket. Damnit. xD
Perhaps they would meet again.
