ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Skye walked down Ceres Lane, nothing to do, nowhere to be. She ditched Darren while he was in mid sentence, and thought it would be fun to take a walk. It was dark, and she suspected someone else would be here too.

A figure walked tiredly down the lane in the direction of Skye, but wasn't looking at her at all. His red eyes were trained down at the ground as he walked slowly along with his shoulders slumped. In the little light there was, his odd skin and hair stuck out, both as pale as possible.

Alexander walked down the street, adjusting his jacket so that it could help fight off any cold breeze that may come his way. His mind clear of most thoughts, he had hardly noticed Skye in the area, or anyone else for that matter.

Ari was asleep in his house, a few houses away. His hoodie hung on the door, and his injured arm hung limply off the side of the couch. His weapons leaned against the window.

Annabelle walked down the street. Unlike the others, she noticed them. She didn't bother to go up to them. It would be quite rude. She continued to walk. Maybe soon they will notice me.. she thought.

Skye stopped to examine a flower. She picked ip up, for it was drooping. She took the flower into her pocket and started to walk again. She looked at the moon, bright and full. It's light casted over her, making her long hair seem to shimmer. She kept walking.

Moonlight shone into Ari's face, making him stir. He groaned, pulling his shirt over his eyes. It showed his bare stomach, but he was too tired to really care. Though, suddenly, he heard the sound of footsteps on the road. Sitting up, he spotted three others, all whom he had never seen before.

Jude was limping slightly if anyone paid enough attention. He'd been running from a Shadow earlier and twisted his ankle.

Alexander paused, turning to see a girl pick up a small flower, she wasn't too far away. A few ten meters or so at the most. He decided to call out to her, out of sheer boredom for the most part. "Isn't it too late to be wondering around?" Now well aware of his surroundings, he pictured a new person watching them from a window. He glanced in their direction.

Annabelle had started to stare at her feet as she walked. She looked up when she heard people starting to talk. She felt like calling out to them but her mouth went dry.

Jude limped past them, nearly tripping on a crack in the road. His face twisted with pain for a moment, then he continued on slowly.

Annabelle soon came close to Alex. Her eyes stole a peek at him but her head went back down to the ground. The white in her lolita shined in the moonlight.

Jude was still walking. His eyes scanned the houses, looking for a vaguely familiar one. He hoped they still lived there... and that they still lived at all.
