ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Midnight walked the long street, slightly aware of her surroundings. All this place was new to her, and this was the only chance she has had to explore since she met Reuben here.

Loki was walking the opposite way down the street, back to the Walmart. He was training by killing off a few standard shadows. His blue eyes were heavy with fatigue.

Midnight glanced up just in time to see a boy walking down the rode. She froze where she was, watching him.

Suddenly, though, he summoned his sword. It appeared in his hand in a blur of shadow energy. "Human or half-blood?" he asked.

Midnight backed away from the boy, her eyes wide. "human.." she whispered, her eyes not leaving the sword.

The sword dissolved once more. "That's good." he said with a smile. "I am Loki. Loki Whitefield. I am one of the senior members of the rebel group living in the Walmart.

Suddenly, a rustling could be heard in the bushes. Without a second to pull out any weapons, Lily came out of the shrubby undergrowth, a couple stay leaves caught in waist length black hair. "Hey guys, what's up?" She said, looking from Loki, to Midnight, back to Loki.

Lily waved smally, then face planted into the pavement with a sick thud. Alyss smiled, picking the small Lily up by her hair. "Bitch!" She hissed, looking at Loki and Midnight. "What the hell are you two looking at?!" She spat, baring needle shard canine teeth.

"Oh, who are you?" Alyss purred, sensing his half-blood power. She smiled. "I haven't seen you around before." Lily's face was paler than usual, as she looked at her fingers. Sticky and red, after touching the back of her head.

Alyss dropped Lily back to the pavement, with another thud, and jumped to the left, pulling a small knife out from under her black dress. "Thigh holster. You should see it sometime." She giggled, snapping her fingers and bringing her bow and arrow to life. "To bad I have to kill you." Alyss frowned, releasing an arrow towards his thigh.
Lily's head bounced back up, but the pavement did little damage as she broke her fall a little too late with her arms. A small cut now flowed on her forehead. "N- not too bad." She whispered.
