ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

The Weeping Willow

Adrian sulked in the darkness through the forest feeling calmed by the canopy of the trees overhead. She had been crying silently for days cooped up inside of the Walmart and she needed to get out. It held too many memories.
With a heavy, shaky sigh, she held back more dry sobs that choked up in her throat as her gaze stayed on the ground. The tears were long gone so now it was just pain and sorrow imprisoned inside of her. After a few quiet minutes, she stopped and looked up to see a bare Weeping Willow tree with its delicate branches hanging just over her head. A very small smile came to her lips. "At least I'm not the only one crying." She told herself in order to try to cheer herself up.

Suddenly, a laugh was heard. Further down in the forest, Elias was tackled hugged by a valgon. "Whooa, buddy." he said grinning, pushing the shadow off. His sunglasses fell from his face, and were a couple yards away.

Someone else had been in the forest that day. The branches of the tree shuddered with the gentle ease of weight as a girl sat down on a thin branchy seat. She lay back, propping up her feet on another branch, her long white hair falling and looking like branches of their own. Her black eyes fixed on Adrian, yet she said nothing, just studied her, while smoothing her short white dress.

Adrian froze suddenly when she saw the strange girl. Instinctively her hand moved to the hilt of her sword but she stopped herself. "Who are you?" She asked monotonously before she heard Elias's laugh off in the distance. Her head quickly turned to face the direction it came from.

Elias finally squirmed out from under the valgon. "Kuwaya! How's the family!?" he asked cheerfully. The valgon answered in an odd language, and Elias smiled. "Wonderful."

Whisper smiled and did what she got her name for. Silently she crawled higher up the tree, making sure her tights didn't get a run, and disappeared into the thick coverage of the Willow Tree.

Raising an eyebrow at the girl that just suddenly vanished, Adrian decided to go search for the source of the other voice she had heard not knowing about the valgon that was with him. As she took a few more steps deeper into the forest, it started to give off a darker, creepier feel that was worse than usual. For the moment her sadness was the last thing on her mind. "Hello?" She called out into the darkness.

Suddenly, at the sound of a human voice, Kuwaya swooped down at Adrian, claws slashing at her. Elias looked down unamused. "Alright, buddy. Don't kill her." he murmured.

The Valgon's claws caught her back leaving deep scratches in her skin and ripping up the back of her shirt. Also in doing so, it had pushed her forward so that Adrian faceplanted the ground with a cry of pain. It had taken her a moment to recover from the shock and the pain of the attack before she turned so that she was sitting on her butt with her sword in her hand. Her face was now covered with dirt-- as well as the rest of her-- and messed up hair. Almost immediately her gaze shot around looking for the source of the claws.

Her eyes finally locked on Elias before she glared at him, taking a moment to stand up. Her sudden panic was very quickly replaced with irritation. "I'm not in the mood..." She muttered, holding up her sword.

His question immediately brought the sorrow back into her mind, but she didn't show it. Instead, her grip on the sword tightened so that her knuckles were nearly completely white as her gaze flickered to the ground for a slight second before she glanced back at him. "That's none of your concern."

Adrian gritted her teeth. This guy, whoever he was, was really starting to annoy her. After a few seconds of silence, she sighed. "Well if you must know, someone I loved dearly... died recently." She choked.

Whisper watched from the top of her tree, greatly interested. Here, this girl had claimed to love Loki Whitfield, but Liz had been furious about him dying. Both girls loved him? She wondered what the black haired girl would do when she found out Queen Maori had killed the traitor. Whisper creeped closer.

Adrian froze, her eyes locked on the small crystal in Elias's hand. Hope immediately coursed all through her, but quickly she shook her head and focused back on him. "Like you would actually do that."

Whisper looked at Elias with wide eyes. "Traitor" She hissed, jumping out of the tree, and landing a foot or so away from them. "What do you think your doing?!" She hissed to Adrian, her black eyes narrowed.

Adrian jumped up and reached for the shard as soon as it left Elias's hand but Whisper's voice distracted her suddenly so she had missed the crystal and the Valgon completely. She carefully landed back on her feet and turned to face the stranger. "You're the girl from earlier..." She said softly, ignoring her question.
