Slasher seemed unaffected, and upper-slashed Reuben, followed by a few more blows. "I see you've gotten farther than the others. Your will to live is impressive. But I will not be trifled with!" Slasher announced, and finished his combo with a stab to the stomach. "Reuben!" Sorren yelled.

Reuben gasped and toppled over. He laid sprawled out, his eyes were starting to close. "S-skylar..." His sword was out of reach.

Sorren yelled, spinning his spear. "Don't fall asleep. Stay awake!" he ordered, as the fog cleared. "You'll pay, you bastard!" he yelled at Slasher. Slasher laughed. "Then show me what you can do."
Suddenly the fog cleared completely. "Let's make this amusing, shall we?" Slasher laughed, lunging. Sorren blocked with his spear.

Baby ran over and latched on to Slasher, pounding it's head with heavy claws.

Slasher brushed it off with one claw. "Please, kid. I teach little runts like you." he breathed. Sorren disattached his spear from Slasher's claws, and the collision faded.

Baby tumbled away before jumping to his feet. It lunged again, grabbing on to it's feet.

Sorren plunged his spear through Slasher's head. It disappeared. Sorren stood there, panting. "You'll die..." he huffed

Baby sat there and gazed back up at Sorren. It stood and ran over to Reuben.

Sorren ran after the little shadow, beating it to Reuben, and hauled his friend over his shoulders and across his back. "Christ, Reuben. You could lose a few pounds." he breathed, starting to walk towards Melody.

Reuben didn't respond, his breath shallow and ragged. His eyes drooped and a certain light left his eyes.

Melody finally came to, sitting up. Her head pounded, and the first thing she said was, "Where's my gun?"

Sorren didn't answer, laying Reuben onto the ground. "Fuck." he whispered, and placed his ear to Reuben's chest. He had a fading heartbeat. Sorren placed both his hand atop each other and pounded them onto Reuben's chest (lol). "Come on Reuben, stay with me." he said.

Reuben coughed up blood, and his head drooped back on the ground. "Where...Where is she...?"

(You forgot to make sure the scene is safe! And you didn't call for help! Nor did you check for a response >:U Lol, we've had the first-aid unit in Science the past 2 weeks X_X)

Melody scrambled over, her troubles forgotten. Quickly, she took off her overshirt and pressed it to Reuben's stomach, praying silently that the bleeding would stop.

Sorren lugged on with Reuben on his back. The Walmart wasn't that far. Suddenly, though, a shine caught his eye. A brown glowing gem lay on the floor. "Melody, can you grab that?" he asked.

The glint also caught Melody's eye.
"Of course," she replied, her voice sounding misty and far-off. She scooped up the gem in her hands, cradling it almost like a baby kitten.

Stretching out her arm, Melody watched it, wondering what could possibly happen. In her outstretched hand sat the brown gem, looking unnaturally dull in the weak morning sunlight.
