The remake of ATA, when the human race goes endangered.

ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct. This is the Prolouge of ATA. Help make the story.

The doors slid open, the automatic function still working, even though the second set of doors had been broken away. Melody tiptoed in, and winced noticeably at the site of all the corpses and blood spattered across the walls of the office. Directly in front of her sat the receptionist, who could have been totally normal, except for the many little shadow spiders crawling across her bloody body.

A shadow stood out from the rest. It looked up with glowing yellow eyes and smiled. Its claws were tinted with blood. On the floor around it read in glistening blood: "The King is dead."
Baby walked up to Melody with a cute little smile.

He scratched an image into the wall. It was a large, strange looking shadow. Baby shook his head violently.

Melody squinted, moving closer to look at the drawing. It suddenly dawned on her what Baby was saying.
"Does that thing live in here?" she asked, her eyes wide.

He nodded, looking around at the other shadows. A cackling laughter escaped the shadow, and he slashed the nearest Nightcrawler. Baby watched as the shadowy head landed on the floor before it turned into dust.

"Wow," she blinked, then another came up behind her. Melody whirled around and blasted a whole right through its chest, and it exploded in a shower of dust. She coughed and spluttered, clearing the air around her mouth.

Another shadow launched itself at them, fast enough that Melody barely got her weapon up in time, and even so, she pulled the trigger too early, missing the monster.

Baby grabbed its head as Melody missed, releasing the energy and making it explode in his claw. Baby stumbled and fell off before standing with piercing eyes.

Melody led the way deeper into the building. She passed a staircase, not even seeing the nightcrawler lurking on it. It stepped out, but made the mistake of growling as it came up behind her. Turning around, she swung her gun hand around, nailing the shadow hard on its temple, causing it to fall to the ground. It wasn't quite dead, though.
"Baby, would you do the honors?" she asked, gesturing to the beast.

"Right," she smiled. "Onward, Lewis!" She turned and moved further into the buildings.
