ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

It was midnight. Lance picked up a blue jacket, and his guns, and slowly walked out of the Walmart. He decided to explore one place he never did, the massive Hotel some blocks up. His leg healed enough so he could walk with barely a limp, and he was just too impatient. Bandages still went up his chest, though, but he ignored them and walked down the street, populated by shadows going through trash bins.

Luna jerked awake. "Stupid nightmares." She mumbled under her breathe. She looked beside her and noticed Lance had gone. Where is that boy? She asked herself then realized she should have stayed awake. She got up and grabbed her sword. Slowly and carefully she left the Walmart without a sound.
Luna's black hoodie left her almost invisible in the dark. She sighed as a small breeze touched her hot face. It gave her some relief. She noticed the blue jacket before it went out of view.

Lance crept around a house, and found the enormous building called the Windbreak Hotel. He walked up to it slowly, and kicked in the door.

Luna heard the banging of a door and raced to see. She came across the Windbreak Hotel. Luna saw Lance standing in front of the door. "Lance... What are you doing?" She asked cautiously. Just in case something had happened the him before he had gotten there.

Luna looked down and scuffed the ground with her shoe tip. "No. I'm sorry. I thought something bad might've happened. Like you turning into a shadow or something. I guess I'll go." She turned and started walking with her head down, watching the ground.

Lance nodded and walked down the halls, until he saw a couple unusual shadows. Elites. Lance took out his gun and shot one in the heart. The other fired an ember at Luna.

Lance nodded and revealed his combat knife. He ran at it and sliced it's chest open, before it vanished in smoke.

Lance walked into onone, room 128, and jumped back. "Creepy fucking doll." he breathed, revealing a doll on a rocking chair, stained with blood. He found a note, saying:

Luna shivered. She picked up the doll. "It's not that creepy." She flipped it back and the eyes closed. "Okay that's creepy but still...." The doll jumped from her hands and ran at Lance. Luna sliced its head off and a Possessor came out.
