ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Luna opened the door. A body lay flat on the bedroom. She turned away quickly and let out a sob. "Lance that's so horrible." she told him. The body was slowly rotting. From what you could tell it was a little boy.

The walls were covered with blood, and in the bath tub, a recently decapitated body lay. Lance quickly closed the door so Luna couldn't see.

Luna walked in slowly. It was quite clean. There were few possessions in it. A wallet was opened on the bed. She picked it up and read the license. "John Barker." she read aloud. "Wow. He's kind of cute." she commented on his picture.

Luna nodded. "Alright." She froze when she heard a small noise in the bathroom. She walked over and opened the door. It swung open slowly. She found a note on the ground and picked it up and started reading

This world is getting worse. Everyday I see more and more of them. Soon we will all die by their
hand. A day ago I heard shouting from a room down the hall. It stopped suddenly and then I
heard the screaming of a small child. I ran to find her body being ripped apart by small
shadows. I shot them and buried the small child and her mother behind the hotel. I'm afraid I
have caught the disease and will soon die. Please. Bury my body next to the woman and child.
