"Lance!" Luna screamed. She was being held by two nightcrawlers.

Lance took out his gun and aimed at the nightcrawlers, but the figure walked into the small light. He was half human, half shadow, actually. The shadows side of him bore claws, while the other was balled in a fist. He ran up to Lance while his back was turned, and punched him in the face. Lance had the air knocked out of him, and staggered a few inches.

"LANCE!" Luna struggled against the crawlers and slipped from their grasp. She ran over to Lance.

Lance stood up. "L-Luna." he breathed. He turned to the mysterious figure. "Who the hell are you?"

The figure grinned. "Be quiet, you don't need to know my name." he slipped out a dagger and held it in his human hand. "You'll be slaves of the shadows soon enough." Suddenly, leeches started to fill the room. Lance blinked and glanced around for an escape route.

"No! I survived you're little pet! I'm not going to be a slave to an idiotic leech!" Luna screamed.

The figure frowned. "Listen girl! You have no choice." Lance frowned, anger swelling up inside of him. He took out two pistols from his holster, and ran toward the figure, stepping on leeches along the way. He pinned him against a wall with a gun. "Luna,run!" he yelled.

"I'm not leaving you Lance." Luna told him firmly. "If you die to save me I couldn't live."

"It'd be worse if we both die." Lance muttered. "Please Luna, I'll escape this, just you have to leave. Tell the others."

Lance was getting frustrated, and let his guard down. The figure twisted his arm behind his back and but the dagger to his throat. "Ha, Perfect Timing I suppose." the figure grinned. "I'd suggest you move along, before I kill your boyfriend."

Luna threw her sword at him so it grazed his head. She eyed Lance and put her hand to her waist where Lance's holster would be. She mouthed the word, Gun.

Lance nodded and pulled out an extra pistol, shooting the figure in the chest. It gasped as Lance flipped out of it's grip. It, though wasn't dead. Blood trickled from the wound, but it healed in front of their eyes.

Luna gasped. She was defenseless. "I'm so sorry Lance... I-I failed you."

"No Luna." Lance said. "He is just getting on my nerves."
The figure laughed. "So what are you going to do? Shoot me? I'll regenerate,fool. I'm invincible, and have been given the power of the Shadow King!" He then backed up. "I'll leave you now, but this will not be the last of me..." he then disappeared into black smoke.

Lance was panting, and leaned against the wall. All that was heard was the dripping of water far away.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't listen to you Lance. I-I'm so careless. I got you captured." Tears started dripping from her cheeks.

Lance walked up to her. "It is alright." he smiled. "Nothing was your fault. It was that guy.." He then touched her cheek and kissed her.
