Marti grimaced, and slammed the door, locking it. "If the shadows wanted to break down the wall, they would have done it already. Like you said, I've been doing this for awhile, and nothings ever happened." She shrugged, plopping down on an over-sized pillow.

Reuben closed his eyes. "Then why don't you enjoy it?" he said, surpirising himself a little. He looked at the rope on the ground and kicked it away.

Marti shrugged. "Is he always like that? Are you always like that? Because you don't seem to be always like that? What's his problem anyways? Do I ask to many questions?" The last question was sort of to herself, and Marti said it quieter than the others.

Marti nodded from her place on the pillow. She smiled. "Although, if you balance things right, you can have fun and still have time to go bad ass on shadows." Her eyes lowered. "If you know how to do it right." She giggled, and winked.

Marti shrugged. "Don't let him get to you, Reuben. He's just grumpy because he's not fun, and now one besides Annabelle wants to be seen with him." She smiled, munching another Twizzler.
