He grasped her arm. "We need to go." He whistled, and Baby jumped off of a stunned Nightcrawler. He wouldn't be dazed for long.

Skylar's breath came in short then started to come back as she ran. She gasped in pain though. Reuben was grabbing where her nails had dug in.

He let go quickly, and shot a glance towards her arm as he ran with her. "What the hell-" He was slapped in the face as a standard shadow jumped out.

Skylar stopped and stabbed the shadow before continuing. As she ran she pleaded to herself that he hadn't seen. She was still holding tight to the egg.

Reuben stumbled on his feet and ran with her. They were nearing the entrance.

Skylar cursed. She remembered the entrance was boarded up. "We have to find a window!" she called to him.

"Fuck!" He looked around wildly, trying to find a way out. The Nightcrawler was kicking aside eggs, trying tog eth to them.

Skylar turned off into a room which, thankfully, had a broken window. "Reuben go!" she said.

"After you, m' lady. I insist." He said in a mock English accent, blocking the Nightcrawler's claws with hsi sword, and they were locked in a battle of strength.

Skylar frowned but didn't argue. She clambered out the window, legs, once again, getting cut up. She made it outside. "Hurry up Reuben!" she cried.

Reuben sparta kicked the Nightcrawler back, and it stumbled into a recycling bin. He leaped out the window, his dead arm getting cut up. Baby leaped out and into his arm. "Let's go!"

Skylar nodded and raced across the school yard until they were at a safe enough distance. She sat down, her back against a tree. She didn't even care she was in a skirt. She needed to take a breather.

Reuben stood guard, He looked sadly into the building, thinking of what might have happened to the school children when the apocalypse started.

Skylar noticed her arm was bleeding again. Must've started back up when he grabbed it. She set the egg in the grass and wiped her wound gingerly with the cloth. She then replaced the egg.

Reuben gazed at the wounds curiously but didn't ask, not wanting to be nosy.

Skylar noticed his wandering eyes and blushed from embarrassment. She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her head down on them, her skirt revealed more than it should've.

IC: Reuben flinched away, his face burning a bright red. He looked to Baby, who had taken a small beating. He gave his friend a high- or a low five. "You did good in there, buddy."

IC: Skylar noticed and she stood up quickly. Her face grew redder as she straightened out her skirt. When she was done she stared hard at the ground. She was trying to think of something to say.

IC: Skylar coughed. She realized Reuben wasn't going to say anything so she breathed in deeply. "I-I guess we should get going..." she started.

Skylar sighed. Her heart beat picked up as he walked with her. That whole cliche when the girl wonders if the boy could hear was in effect.

Reuben stopped and looked to her. Reuben turned Skylar's face up lightly with his hand and leaned forward until his lips fell on her's, as his eyes closed.

Skylar's heart started skipping beats as he kissed her. It was her first time. His lips were soft against her's. She wondered what he was thinking.

Reuben felt lighter. Everything seemed to fade away, and nothing else seemed to matter. HIs thoughts were a blur, and his shyness seemed to slip away.
