ATA-How it Happened
It was 2017. The Moon suddenly left it's orbit, and the Earth was a dark cold place. Millions caught disease from the cold and darkness, many became crazy and committed suicide, and many were killed by other things. Shadows. Shadows were wiped out when the Moon first appeared, after a meteor struck Earth. The gravitational pull of the moon kept them away. Though, as the moon suddenly disappeared from the orbit, the shadows once again appeared, and killed off most of the disease survivors. Now, only about 8,000 people live in the world, and there is a popular group of rebel survivors in New York City. These survivors are the closest in the world to the Shadow Fortress, and are the only ones that can save the human race from becoming completely extinct.

Skylar walked around the city until she came across the museum. It seemed like a nice spot to get away. Of course she didn't know what was in the museum.

Reuben was already in the museum, just inside the door. He dozed off quietly, his shadow alert by his side.

The shadow pimp slapped Reuben awake. HIs eyes jolted open, but he calmed down when he saw it was Skylar. And doing the only non-stalker thing he could do, he followed her.

He was stuck there until he felt a sharp tug. He never let his locked gaze go, but he knew his shadow was tugging from behind.

Reuben tightened his grip, heaving her up from the pit. He wished desperately his other arm was functional. He used all of his energy to bring her out.

Reuben was speechless. His mind was racing to find something clever to say, but he was much to awkward for that sort of thing. He wrapped his arms around her. "Are you okay?"

Reuben looked at Skylar wildly. "What the fuck-" Before he could run to Skylar, he was thrown in the air like a ragdoll, and his shadow fled in terror. He crossed his heart in an awkward fashion and started to crawl towards her.
