"She was already dead." Skylar replied.

Amethyst went limp in front of Reuben but her heart still beat softly. The revival shard was doing its job in keeping her alive and Amethyst was thankful. But the blade in her stomach occupied her attention.

"That lives again..." He remembered the Revival Shard. He stood. "I love you, and I don't want to hurt you or anyone else anymore." He pulled his own sword out and held it to his neck.

Skylar pulled her sword out of Amethyst's stomach. "NO!" she roared.

Amethyst's eye snapped open once more. She saw Reuben's sword in front of his throat. IDIOT! Amethyst reached up and grabbed the edge of the blade.

Amethyst shook her head no.

Skylar was in shock. "WHY ARE YOU STILL ALIVE!" she screamed.

Amethyst glared at Skylar. She wondered what Reuben saw in her. She wished she had her notepad so she could throw it at the girl. Instead she turned around and stared Reuben in the eyes with a stern look. She wouldn't let him die in her lifetime.

Reuben dropped to his hands and knees. "I can't even kill myself... How useless is that..."

Amethyst was exasperated. She wished desperately she could talk but all she had were her hands. So she slapped him.

Amethyst rolled her eyes and pointed to Skylar, she shook her head to say,"Neither is she." She frowned and put both hands on his face. Her eyes stared back at his. Trying to get him to see how upset she'd be if she lost him once more.

His eyes saddened. He felt the feelings of dread fill him once again. He caused them pain in life or death.

"I think what Amethyst is trying to say is that if you left we'd be unhappy. You keep us happy no matter what your brain is telling you." she spoke.

"But..." He couldn't argue. As long as they were happy. He embraced her in a hug.

Amethyst's heart dropped once more. She remembered her leg and watched the blood flow from both her wounds. Her eyes felt heavy. The rest of her body fell.

Skylar grinned as she saw Amethyst fall. Die. she thought as she embraced Reuben tighter.

A tear fell from his eye. "Why is life so hard..." He said. "We have to help her..." He choked out.

Skylar shook her head. "It's criminal that she'd been given a second chance. And she wasted it by trying to take someone that didn't belong to her." she reasoned.

He sighed. "Imagine yourself being brought from the dead to find someone dear to you move on, and now that dear person and the other are now arguing whether to save you or not." He explained swiftly. "I love you, and I won't let anyone else steal me from you."
