"Alright then." Ari said with a smile, walking down the aisles. He disappeared into one, and came out, riding in electric scooter. "Haha!" he shouted, riding up the aisles.

Melody burst out laughing at Ari; he looked positively ridiculous. Then something hit her.
"Wait, this place sells electric scooters?" she asked, her expression thunderstruck.

Annabelle nodded. "It also sells coffins." she laughed. "Wal-mart sells everything."

"Ah. I gotta say. I could get used to this." Ari said with a smile. Though, he blinked. "Of course. Our main objective is to kill shadows. Not mess around in supermarkets.."

"Why not?" Melody asked. "There's so much stuff here, and it's not like shadows have infiltrated the Wal-Mart or anything."

Melody made a face.
"Except we rarely have any fun around here," she muttered. "People are always getting beat by shadows. It's almost like there's no point in fighting back anymore." Stunned by her own words, she stared, wide-eyed at the floor for a moment.

"No point in fighting...?" the words angered Annabelle. "Miss I am truly sorry but once you are a slave for all of your life you just want a bit of freedom. I finally got that when the apocalypse started but then I realized I'm not really free. I still have the Shadow King trying to rule over me. I don't want to be a slave any longer. I will do what ever I possibly can to end his life and restart mine." she told her sternly.

Melody glared over at Annabelle.
"It becomes hardly bearable when you've lost the two people you loved most in the world, "she snapped back. "You have a reason to keep fighting. Me? I have nothing. So I'm sorry if you disagree, but we all have our own opinions. We're entitled to them, right?"
She stared defiantly for a moment, then turned away.
"I'm going for a walk," she grumbled.

His eyes were narrowed.

Freezing, Melody turned back to face them, tears in her eyes.
"I never said I was giving up," she told him, having to whisper so her voice wouldn't crack. "I merely said I have nothing to fight for."

A tear leaked out of Melody's eye. She could only look at Ari, but what Annabelle said stung her.
"I hardly knew him," she admitted, angrily wiping away the sudden wetness on her cheek. "That was. . It was stupid to like him." Realizing what she said, she winced. "I mean that it didn't work, it wasn't right."

"I'm not giving up on you!" she cried, her hands out at her side in disbelief. "I'm not giving up on anybody, especially you. I was brought here by. . I don't know, fate? Destiny? And I will never, I mean EVER, give up on anybody. Sorry about anything I said, about never having fun. Sometimes, it just overwhelms me." When she finished, Melody wiped her eyes on her sleeves.
